Terms and conditions

December 2014

LPG terms and conditions are changing

We wanted to let you know that Contact Energy have just updated their terms and conditions (t&c’s) of supply for LPG and these changes will take effect on 1 January 2015.

There are updates to four areas of the current terms & conditions:-

  1. Changes to the disputes and complaints process: the Electricity and Gas Complaints Commissioner (EGCC) scheme has been extended to cover bottled LPG.  The t&c’s now include more detailed information about both Contact’s internal complaints process and the EGCC contact details.
  2. An addition to the notices and alteration of price and terms provisions so that Contact can let you know about future changes to their t&c’s by including them on their website.
  3. Clarification of the definition of point of delivery to differentiate between point of delivery for cylinders and point of delivery for bulk supply.
  4. For business customers only: due to changes made to the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 (CGA) earlier in the year, Contact needed to amend the wording around contracting out of the CGA with business customers.

You can see the updated version of the t&c’s in full at contact.co.nz/termsandconditions, or if you’d prefer to have a copy sent to you please contact us on the number below.
